Text Box: There are many ways that you can get involved with Pit Mountain Rescue. If you'd like to become a volunteer or provide foster care, you can email and let us know how you'd like to help homeless Pit Bulls.

Here are examples of the things that a volunteer can do.

¨ Make home visits for potential new owners.
¨ Transport Pits (at least halfway) to new homes or foster homes.
¨ Act as a temporary foster home for a Pit Bull.
¨ Provide treats, food, harnesses, leads, etc. for Pits in foster care.
¨ Contribute Pit stories and/or photos to Pit Mountain Rescue for our efforts to promote responsible pet guardianship and public education.
¨ Help volunteer at Pit Mountain Rescue events throughout the year.

 Foster Care

When a Pit Bull is surrendered to Pit Mountain Rescue, they need to be seen by a vet, some need to be spayed or neutered and some may have other health concerns that need to be treated.

They also need to be evaluated as to their temperament, personalities, etc. in order to make an appropriate family match before they can be placed in a forever home.

That's where it becomes so important to have volunteers who are willing to provide temporary, Foster homes for the Pits.

If you would be interested in providing Foster care, please fill out the online Foster Care Application today!
